Sanitation & Hygiene
We implement and study practical solutions in waste management, promote sustainable menstrual hygiene, and improve public sanitation infrastructure to create healthier, more livable communities.
Coastal Resilience
We work to protect and strengthen coastal communities against the impacts of climate change through advocacy, research, and community-based adaptation strategies, safeguarding these vital ecosystems they support.
Advocacy & Capacity Building
We work to influence environmental policies at local, national, and international levels. We build the capacity of communities and individuals to help in decision-making and advocate for a more sustainable future.

Solid Waste Management Initiatives
Market Study on Single-Use Plastics (SUPs) in Kerala (July, 2022)
Comprehensive research analyzing SUP usage and proposing 20 recommendations for effective bans in the state of Kerala. Key Outcome: Presented findings to Kerala government officials, influencing policy considerations.
Valiyathura Ward SWM Report (June, 2023)
Analyzed waste management practices in Valiyathura, Trivandrum, providing insights for policymakers and residents. Key Outcome: Submitted report to local authorities, offering actionable steps for improvement.
Waste Segregation Awareness Program (Sept, 2023)
Conducted at Veterinary College, Pookode, resulting in reduced waste and the formation of a “Green Club.” Key Outcome: Established sustainable waste management practices at the college.
Sustainable Menstruation
Awareness Session at Government College, Kariavattom (Jan , 2023)
Educated students on menstrual hygiene and eco-friendly products. Key Outcome: Promoted a more inclusive and environmentally conscious campus community.
Awareness Session at Pondicherry University Off Campus (Nov , 2023)
Focused on breaking down taboos and promoting open discussions about sustainable practices. Key Outcome: Addressed menstruation within the broader context of sexual health and sustainability.
Empowering Sustainable Menstrual Choices: A Workshop at Kannur University (Oct , 2023)
Comprehensive workshop on sustainable menstrual practices. Key Outcome: Delved into the complexities surrounding menstruation, offering participants a holistic understanding of sustainable management practices.
Toilet Repair Café (Chennai)
Launched June 13, 2024, in collaboration with WASH Lab, to overhaul public toilet maintenance in Chennai’s Triplicane-Chepauk constituency. Key Outcomes: Trained 34 staff, established a repair hub, deep-cleaned and repaired 20 toilets.

Advocacy Against Coastal Erosion
Virtual Conference on Coastal Erosion (Trivandrum Coast: Causes and Challenges) (Aug, 2020)
Focused on Trivandrum coast, featuring expert insights and community participation. Key outcome:Follow-up webinar on the impact of coastal erosion on women.
Report on Coastal Erosion - Study Anchuthengu to Poonthura (Aug - Sept 2020)
Analyzed waste management practices in Valiyathura, Trivandrum, providing insights for policymakers and residents. Key Outcome: Submitted report to local authorities, offering actionable steps for improvement.
15-Day Capacity Building Program on Preventive Methods of Beach Erosion (Dec , 2020)
Featured notable experts, covering various topics such as monitoring beach erosion through remote sensing, sedimentary analysis, and implementing erosion control measures. Key outcome: Participants presented a draft action plan based on the training they received.
National Conference on Coastal Erosion and Indigenous Communities of the South-West Coast of India (Feb 5-7, 2021)
Gathered experts, activists, and policymakers to discuss challenges and solutions for coastal erosion. Key Outcome: Presented conference findings to the Chief Minister of Kerala.
Cleanup Drives
Kallippara Cleanup Drive, Idukki (October 24, 2022)
Focused on waste management and sustainable tourism. Key Outcome: Sensitized participants on waste management and sustainable tourism.
Valiyathura Cleanup Drive (June 3, 2023)
Collaborated with Dolphods Foundation and Zero to One to combat marine littering. Key outcome: Volunteers and participants worked together to remove waste and spread awareness about sustainable waste management practices.
Corbyn's Cove Beach Cleanup (June 8, 2023)
Removed substantial waste, raising awareness about marine conservation in the Andaman Islands. Key outcome: Inspired the local community to take responsibility for preserving their natural surroundings.
Cleanup and Beautification Drive at Ward 27, Kochi
Transformed old containers into collection facilities for recyclable materials. Key outcome: Highlighted the power of collective action in achieving a cleaner and greener Kochi.
Blue Economy in Kerala
Submitted a multidisciplinary report to the Kerala State Planning Board (Discussed in August 2021), offering guidance for the sustainable development of Kerala’s coastal regions. Key outcome:Addressed to the Minister for Fisheries, Culture, and Youth Affairs (2021-2022), aiming to balance economic growth with ecological preservation.
CHAYAL - Coastal Immersion Journey (Dec 22-31, 2023)
- A 9-day experiential program for 30 young changemakers, fostering leadership in coastal resilience. Key Outcome: Participants engaged with Karimkulam Fishing Village, gaining insights into traditional practices and sustainable living.

Climate Education Initiatives
International Conference on Climate Education (Oct 3-4, 2020)
Laid the groundwork for BBG’s ambitious curriculum project in South India. Key outcome: Influenced curriculum development and promoted climate awareness globally.
National Conference on Climate Education (Oct 10, 2020)
First virtual national dialogue focused on integrating climate education into school curriculums across India. Key outcome: Underscored BBG’s leadership in promoting climate awareness at the national level.
State Conference on Climate Education and Curriculum Development (Oct 18, 2020)
Emphasized the integration of agricultural knowledge into school programs and the vital role of climate education in Kerala. Key outcome: Highlighted the importance of community-led initiatives in promoting sustainable practices.
Basic Climate Education Program for Students
5-day ‘Basic Climate Education Program’ for school students. Key outcome: Nearly 30+ students participated along with their parents, they starting making necessary changes in their daily lives as part of the program.
Capacity Building Programs on Climate Education and Curriculum Development (Feb - March 2021)
Focused on practical aspects of sustainable living and waste management. Key outcome: Climate curricula developed during these programs were presented to Kerala’s Hon’ble Higher Education Minister.
"Verukal" Climate Education Camp (May 10-14, 2023)
Hosted Kerala’s first climate education camp at S.N.G.H.S. Kanimangalam, focusing on waste management and sustainability. Key Outcome: Provided hands-on learning for students, leading to the potential designation of the school as a Zero Waste Campus.
Climate Education Project (Launched June 3, 2023)
Integrating climate education into the school curriculum at S.N.G.H.S. Kanimangalam. Key Outcome: Engaged 114 students in weekly sessions, fostering understanding of climate issues.
Youth Advocacy on the Silverline Project (May - June 2022)
Conducted surveys and discussions with Kerala’s youth on the proposed Silverline rail project. Key Outcome: Submitted a report to the Minister for Revenue and Housing, highlighting youth concerns and recommendations.
Panchayat Climate Parliament
A state-wide initiative engaging youth in local climate action, supported by the Kerala Institute of Local Administration (KILA). Key Outcome: Established in 14 districts initially (Later expanded to other 9 LSGIs in Thrissur), mobilizing over 2500 volunteers, fostering grassroots climate action and policy discussions. (Started in October 2022).
National Youth Climate Consortium (NYCC)
Launched in collaboration with YuWaah UNICEF, creating a platform for grassroots youth leaders across India. Key Outcome: Aims to build leadership skills, support local climate projects with microgrants, and facilitate youth participation in national and global climate forums.
Climate Storytelling
Produced “Theeram” documentary series (multiple releases throughout 2022) and “Avocado” short film (released in 2023, with over 450k+ views), highlighting climate change impacts on coastal communities. Key Outcome: Raised awareness and fostered empathy through creative storytelling, screened at various platforms.
Green Gathering
The Green Gathering by Bring Back Green (BBG) is a unique forum where like-minded individuals, environmentalists, activists, and changemakers come together to discuss and address pressing climate and environmental issues. This initiative serves as a platform for knowledge sharing, idea exchange, and collective action towards a greener future. Key outcome: The diverse range of attendees, all passionate about the environment, fostered collaborations and new partnerships that promise to benefit future initiatives.
